Faithful vs generative enhancement

A faithful pass changes edges, tone, size, or a flat backdrop. You can still point at the original and say it is the same picture. A generative pass adds texture, letters, or facial detail from a model’s training, not from your file.

Generative tools are useful when you want a new asset and you are allowed to invent it. They are the wrong tool for a product the buyer will receive, a relative’s face, or a number on a page.

On-device work stays on the faithful side. Cloud super-resolution can infer texture. Cloud portrait, colorize, and object removal add detail the file did not contain, and the result screen says so.
