Restore a family photo

Scan the print at 600 DPI or more if it is small. TIFF or PNG keeps more than a tiny JPEG. Store that scan somewhere boring and safe before you touch a slider.

The restore tool stretches flat contrast and cools a yellow cast. It does not heal a tear. A missing corner stays missing, which is what you want if the print is a record.

When you share a viewing copy, say it was adjusted. The people in the picture cannot correct a face that a model invented after they are gone.
